I attended a beginners sewing course to make a cushion today. I had such a great time. Julia is so knowledgeable, friendly and patient and I learnt so much to get sewing more cushions! Having met and attended a beginners cushion sewing class with Julia, i can highly recommend this.  Julia is very friendly, skillful, knowledgable and has the ability to really enable you to feel comfortable and confident in what you are doing.  Her classes are small, welcoming and relaxing. I attended a complete beginners' sewing class at Bobbins and Buttons. These are in a new, stand alone session format, so one does not have to commit to a series of six in consecutive weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed the class- Julia is a very patient teacher who wasn't phased by any of my 'mishaps'.  Her methods are very positive and I felt motivated and encouraged. I was able to bring my own sewing machine to learn its basic functions, and I even left the class with a completely usable cushion cover! Super sewing of a sweatshirt! I can only reiterate what the other ladies on this course have said. I am now much more confident about using my overlocker and the tips and tricks Julia taught us are overlocker lifesavers. Julia is a very calm, positive teacher who simply believes everyone can produce a stunning garment. And she’s right. Bobbins & Buttons is a great place to learn sewing at all levels. Julia and I had a lovely chat to discuss my requirements and I enlisted on the 6 week course, “Bring Your Own Sewing Project". Julia is a great teacher and she creates a very friendly atmosphere at her classes, she makes you feel relaxed and at home. Everyone is able to progress at a speed that suits them and Julia shares her time evenly. I really enjoyed my Wednesday mornings and I have learned so much already in such a short space of time.
