Introducing My New Sewing Teaching Subscription – Coming Soon

For a long time now I’ve been thinking about how to bring everything I love about my in-person sewing classes into an online space — the learning, the confidence building, the creative spark, the sense of community — and I’m so excited to finally share what I’ve been working on.

Very soon I’ll be launching my brand new sewing teaching subscription, designed to support your learning, build confidence, and help you create a wearable handmade wardrobe.

Here’s what it’s all about.

sewing subscription from Bobbins and Buttons

A Wardrobe That Grows With Your Skills

At the heart of the subscription is a simple idea:

Your skills build — and your handmade wardrobe builds alongside them.

Each month, there will be a brand new project, focused on helping you make the most of the patterns you already own, through:

  • clever pattern hacks
  • fresh design ideas
  • and easy-to-follow self-drafting projects

Every project is carefully chosen to add something useful, wearable, and uniquely yours, so by the end of the year, you won’t just have more sewing knowledge, you’ll have a wardrobe you can be proud of.

In-Depth Technique Tutorials

Alongside the project, each month includes a full, in-depth technique class, breaking one key skill down step-by-step.

These techniques are designed to build on each other, so you’re constantly strengthening your foundation while moving forward.

Over time, you’ll also gain access to the growing Core Skills Library, covering:

  • Troubleshooting sewing problems
  • Essential sewing techniques
  • Pattern alteration & fitting skills
  • Sewing with stretch and using an overlocker

This means you’re never stuck wondering why something went wrong — you’ll have the tools to fix it.

Perfect for Beginners & Confident Beginners

This subscription is designed to support everyone from complete beginners to confident beginners. You’ll have full access to my complete beginner’s course, and all the in-depth video tutorials are explained step by step, so you can follow along with ease and build your skills at your own pace.

And you’ll never feel silly asking questions, because you’ll be learning inside a supportive, members-only community — not on social media, but in a calm, private space built purely for learning and sharing.

What’s Included From Day One

When you join, you’ll receive:

  • Free access to my complete Beginner’s Online Course
  • 2 free PDF patterns that form the foundation of your first projects and skills
  • 10% off all fabric and kits
  • 50% off PDF patterns
  • Monthly project & technique classes
  • Growing Core Skills Library
  • Members-only online community

All of this for just £10 per month.

My aim is to create the closest possible online version of my in-person classes — the kind of place where you can grow at your own pace, build confidence, and fall back in love with sewing.

I was about 6 or 7 years old when I had my first go on a sewing machine, it was an old hand crank machine that my mum used with her patients, she was an occupational therapist. When it came to leaving school I visited a careers advisor who asked what I wanted to do next. My answer was ..Sew! Read more...
