The Millie dresses and top sewing pattern is a level 3 project. This pattern is suitable for adventurous beginners who are looking to try something a little more ambitious.
About the Millie ladies dresses and top sewing pattern
A ladies pinafore dress pattern. This dress has a fitted band above the bust and wide straps, it is loose around the waist, shaping to an a-line skirt. It features large shaped patch pockets which are sewn into the side seams. The dress is fastened at the back with an invisible zip.
The top is a shortened version of the pinafore dress finished with a hem facing that can be stitched internally or externally.
The tiered maxi dress has a gathered upper bodice, fitted to the same band as the other styles. The skirt has a 3 gathered panels.

Choosing suitable fabrics for the Millie dresses and top sewing pattern
The Millie pinafore dress and top can be made in medium weight fabrics such as cotton poplin, broadcloth, chambray, linen, needlecord and cotton blends.
The Millie maxi dress can be made in woven viscose, lyocell, light weight cottons such as lawn and double gauze.
