Overlocker know how – Make a sweatshirt.
Bring your own overlocker to this class. Get to grips with some of the overlockers functions by making a classic sweatshirt. You can choose to make a sweatshirt for ladies, men or children. The pattern and fabric will need to be purchased and prepared before the class.
The pattern can be ordered as a pdf or a paper version here
Theodor is the child size sweatshirt
Dean is the mens size sweatshirt
Lynn is the ladies size sweatshirt
This class can be booked as a single class or part of a 4 class mini course. If you have booked all four overlocker classes as a mini course you will receive the sweatshirt pattern free.
A YouTube tutorial will be available covering the preparation and cutting out of the sweatshirt. If you would prefer to have guidance with cutting out a ‘bring your own’ project session is available 12th Feb.
This is an ideal follow on class to the ‘get to know your overlocker’ class putting some of the techniques into use making these items.
Skills we will cover in this class.
- Threading your overlocker and setting tensions.
- Setting the machine up with appropriate differential feed and cutting width for the fabrics used.
- Stretching on a neckband.
- Simple garment construction
You will need to bring your own overlocker, along with the manual, tweezers and tool kit. You will also need to know your overlocker is in good working order.
Please don’t forget to bring your foot pedal!
Please get in touch if you would like to take the course but don’t have an overlocker, there are a limited amount of overlockers available to use for the session at no extra cost.
